EVENT INFORMATION
RUN GROUPS
West Coast HPDE events normally have four “run” groups. Please sign up according to your experience level. This is for your safety and enjoyment, as well as others on the track! You can always ask to have your Group (Level) changed during the event. We will assess if you should be moved up or down a group,
Level A - Green Group
Limited or zero track experience. Moderate pace with passing only on designated straights with a point-by. All passing off-line of the car being passed. Mandatory classroom time and van session. showing the track is included.
To maximize learning opportunities this group offers 2 different experiences:
Level A Novice - includes skid pad, van session on-track and on-track instruction. All first-timers should choose Level A Novice.
Level A Solo - for drivers who have previously completed the Level A Novice, or equivalent, and want the relaxed pace of Green Group. Skid pad exercises are not included.
Level B - Yellow Group
Some track or HPDE experience. Accelerated pace with passing only on designated straights. All passing only off-line of the car being passed. Point by recommended.
Level C - Blue Group
Significant track and HPDE experience. Fast-paced with passing on the straights and some corners. All passing off-line only. Point-by required except on the straights.
Level D - Red Group
Extensive track and or race experience. Fastest pace. Must be experienced in passing at a fast pace. Unlimited passing anywhere on the track. Track-prepped cars recommended with roll cage and five point harness. Fire-retardant race suit required.
Point-By
Point-by can be either hand and arm extended straight out the window.
Exiting the Track
Indication that the driver intends to leave the track to enter the pits shall be left arm out the window bent at a 90 degree angle with closed fist. This indication should be displayed at least through the entire last turn before the pit entrance.
Passengers
If passengers are permitted for your run group:
A driver, who is entered in the Yellow, Blue, or Red run groups, may have a passenger who is 18 or older (ID required) ride with him/her in the car with a purchase passenger wristband. A parental waiver is available for 16-17 year olds.
In all situations, passengers are to be provided and use the same level of restraint system as the driver. Helmet, belts and neck restraint.
Red Group: If a driver in this group wants to allow a passenger, the car must be built with a full roll cage that meets either SCCA, NASA, BMWCCA, PCA, FIA, or other recognized sanctioning organizations, and include side impact bars on the passenger side. If the Red Group car does not meet this standard, this Red Group car can be allowed to drop down a group, carry a passenger, and follow all on-track protocols of the lower group.
In all cases – THIS IS A REVOCABLE PRIVILEGE. If the Safety Steward, Group Leader, or Event Manager observes any behavior while driving with a passenger that shows evidence of “showing off” or lack of concentration by the driver, or attentiveness to traffic, the car will be immediately black flagged and the passenger will be required to exit the car – there will be no second chance on this decision.
PIT LANE
Speed limit is 5mph.
WILLOW SPRINGS RACEWAY
WSR requires a gate entry fee as well as a liability form signature. This is not part of our entry fee or liability waiver.
WSR gate opens at 6:00 am.
Overnight parking and stay at the track are permitted. Please check with WSR for any additional requirements.
Cars and trailers may be dropped off Friday before the event date.
There is racing fuel available at the track. Hours of operation Saturday and Sunday are 7:00 AM to 5:00 pm.

Liability form signature required at gate or at registration table for everyone on site.
AMP gate opens at 7:00 am.
Cars and trailers may be dropped off Friday before the event date.

CHILDREN
All children under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult while onsite.
